News:

Makeup Forever is debuting a new foundation which I have a feeling will be a big hit! It is the Water Blend Face and Body Foundation and is a gel water formulation. There will be 20 shades at launch and will be 43.00. It should be out in the next couple months so keep a look out! The Face and Body foundation is already a cult classic so we’ll see how well this formula works!

MAC is coming out with yet another new collection very soon! The MAC Blue Nectar collection will include lipsticks and Plushglass. There will be some popular limited edition lipsticks coming back like Riot House from the Osbourne collection and Barbeque. It should be up on June 2nd online and June 9th in stores.

In indie news, the new Jeffree Star highlighters and palette that has a huge buzz on social media right now is upon us! There will be four highlighters Mint Condition a light mint, King Tut which is a true gold, Ice Cold which is bright white, and Peach Goddess a peachy pink. They will be 29.00 each in large pans in a pink compact. You can also buy them as a bundle for 100.00. There will also be a brand new eyeshadow palette the Killer Beauty palette, with a mix of neutrals and brights, shimmer and matte for 45.00. They are all vegan and cruelty free. No time yet but they will be released Wednesday May 25th, make sure to follow @jeffreestarcosmetics on Instagram for swatches!

My pick of the week is more of a review of the week because it has been so highly requested,  the new Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face palette! This palette is a mix of two highlighters and three highlighters. The highlighters consist of the ever so popular Champagne Pop, and a limited edition color Prosecco which is a more yellow gold version of Champagne Pop. The three blushes Rose Spritz, Amaretto, and Pamplemousse are also quite beautiful. Rose Spritz is the most shimmery of the three and gave a beautiful glow. Amaretto and Pamplemousse were satiny and blended out nice as well. The packaging is stunning, with white and gold and a large mirror. It is 52.00 and I think it is a very fair price for what you get. It feels luxurious and the colors are gorgeous on the skin. It will be available on Sephora.com May 26th 9am pst and in stores June 16th.

News:

For those of you that are CoverFX fans I have some awesome news for you! It looks like CoverFX is expanding their drops like to include 6 illuminating and bronzing drops! The illuminating drops can be used to mix with your liquid foundation or as possibly a liquid highlighter, The bronzing drops can be used to darken your foundation in the summer months, contouring, so many possibilities! They should be out sometime in the next couple months. While you're waiting you can check out their new Custom Drop Blots which you can mix with your foundations to make them more matte, and their new sunscreen drops on Sephora.com right now!

Benefit has officially debuted their huge upcoming brow collection that has been years in the making! The exciting part about it is it has something for everyone I think from gel liner for those that are Anastasia  dip brow fans and want to try something new to the Precisely, My Brow pencil which looks a little like the also popular Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Whiz or the NYX Microbrow. There will also be a brow primer, 3D Browtones which will give a highlight to your brow, the popular Gimme Brow is back with more colors, and more! You can preview the collection right now on Ulta.com! They should be coming out online June 24th on Ulta.com as well as other retailers and there will be a preorder on June 6th on Hsn.com!

My pick of the week is the new Loreal Glam Bronze bronzers! I didn't think I would find another drugstore bronzer that I loved as much as the Physicians Formula Butter bronzer but I really like these! They come in bright orange packaging and the pans are quite large. I bought the Light and Medium colors. The light was quite cool almost gray which turned out to be an excellent contour on my NW20 skin. The Medium I used to warm up my contour and forehead a bit and I loved the result. They are not matte but on the shimmery side so for those that prefer mattes I might stay away from these. I liked the glow they gave and they are quite pigmented. I bought them at Target for 12.99 each but you can also buy them from Ulta.com as well!

News:

It looks like the new innovation in cosmetics is second skin! The “second skin” was partly created by Massachusetts Institute of Technology or MIT and has the potential to being a groundbreaking discovery in the cosmetics industry as well as many others. It is a flexible compound that goes on like a lotion and then when activated with an ointment smooths out wrinkles and creates an invisible film or second skin. What is cool about this is that not only could it be used in the beauty industry (the primer to end all primers) but can also be used to treat eczema, as well as protect us against sun damage!

If you have been on social media these past few days it would be hard to miss this news. If not, there is a new Jaclyn Hill and Sephora collaboration coming soon! There will be a new face palette or Champagne collection which is in gold packaging and looks like a mix of highlighters and blushes. It may include a new highlighter that Jaclyn has hinted is a sister to the very popular Champagne Pop she helped create. Right now the potential date is May 26th online on Sephora.com and in stores June 16th. That can change so definitely make sure to follow Jaclyn Hill on her Instagram and Snapchat!

The pick of the week is the Bare Minerals Invisible light Translucent Powder Duo. Bare Minerals describes this powder palette as “Two distinct finishes give your complexion an effortlessly fresh-not flat-look.” This palette includes two powders that are great at setting your Makeup. The left side is your more matte formula. It is very soft and finely milled and I use it under the eye area to set my concealer. The right side is a more shimmery powder that are very reminiscent of the Hourglass Ambient powder. I use a fluffy powder brush and use that as my finishing powder as my last step and it gives such a beautiful subtle glow. The palette is 32.00 in black packaging and you can buy it at Sephora.com, Ulta.com, and bareescentuals.com.

News:

As we know some of the most popular collections these past few years have been celebrity brands or collaborations! Rihanna with M.A.C who is also creating her own line now, Kylie Jenners lip kits and there has been some talk of the next big celebrity cosmetics brand, Lionel Richie! The Grammy award winning singer recently filed a trademark for “Hello by Lionel Richie”. He also included copyrights to protect everything under his trademark which will include “cosmetics, face masks, body glitter, bath beads, hair bows, and nail polish” Not sure yet how much Nicole will be involved but it will be interesting to see!

M.A.C will be debuting their newest collection with Chris Chang this week! There will be 14 products including lipsticks, eye shadows, cream colour base, fluidline and pressed powder in limited edition vibrant packaging. So far I have seen very mixed reviews on this collection so swatching them in store might be beneficial for this collection. It should be available online on May 5th at Maccosmetics.com and in stores on May 12th! If you want to check out reviews or swatches first Christine of Temptalia.com has full reviews up!

Our picks of the week are the new Lancôme Juicy Shaker pigment infused Bi-phased lip oils! These are such a nice break from the super matte products that have been all the rage lately. Lancôme describes them as “A perfect cocktail of nourishing oils. The bi-phase lip oil formula combines the comfort of nourishing oils with the revitalizing power of color pigments”. These lip oils contain apricot, peach, sweet almond, rose, and cranberry oils as well as pigment that goes on as a sheer wash. The packaging is what sold me at first, they are beautiful silver tubes that resemble martini shakers that you shake to mix the pigments with the oil. The applicator is also really neat and is a very soft cushion that applies the perfect amount of oil and pigment. There are 20 shades or flavors I like to call them, and range from Freedom of Peach which is a light wash of peach that smells like peaches, to Apri-cute a sheer orange that smells like Apricots. They are really fun to use, have beautiful packaging, are very moisturizing, and are fun for summer! You can buy them for 21.00 each on Sephora.com Ulta.com and Lancôme-USA.com!
